Carlos Akin — Linux Infrastructure Consulting

25 years. Legacy migrations, PCI compliance, database performance — the systems nobody else wants to touch.

25 years / ~600 client environments kept PCI-compliant / ~170-server migration / enterprise architect, 12 years

For twelve years I was the enterprise architect for a hosting company — I set the strategy for servers, databases, and security, stayed on call for escalations, and worked hands-on with the team that built it. That work kept roughly 600 client environments PCI-compliant and moved an entire server fleet off CentOS with zero unplanned downtime. Before that, thirteen years of independent contract work; now taking on new contract and consulting engagements. Remote, on-site, or extended field deployments — self-contained and travel-ready.

Infrastructure — CentOS/EOL migrations, PCI prep & remediation, MySQL rescue, Perl script maintenance, MSP white-label overflow.

Web systems — hosting, malware & performance rescue, custom builds.
